Ludwigia repens: red colour in the aquarium without CO2

Ludwigia repens is the most accessible red plant in the planted aquarium: oval leaves, green above and coppery or reddish beneath, which intensify under strong light but do not vanish under medium light. Unlike rotalas and alternantheras, it copes with hard water and thrives without injected CO2, which makes it the sensible option for adding colour to a tank without equipment.
