Description

Ambulia, or Asian marshweed, is a stem plant with very fine leaves set in whorls, giving the back of the tank a pine-like or feathery look. It is often confused with cabomba, but it is far easier: it grows in low light without CO2, and it grows fast. That speed is its main virtue in a new tank, because it takes up nutrients and competes with algae in the first weeks. It is also its main demand: it needs frequent trimming, or the stems reach the surface, flop over and shade everything else.
