Description
Aponogeton crispus is a bulb plant from Sri Lanka with long, translucent, wavy-edged leaves that can pass 40 cm and sway with the current. It is often sold as a dry bulb in a blister pack, and it surprises: planted in the substrate it sprouts within days and grows very fast. What is rarely mentioned is that it is seasonal. After several months of growth it goes dormant, the leaves fall apart and it looks dead. It is not: if the bulb is left in place or stored for a few weeks, it sprouts again.
