Descripción

The Poeciliidae family groups the so-called livebearers: they give birth to fully formed fry instead of laying eggs. They are among the most popular aquarium fish in the world due to their hardiness, ease of reproduction, and wide variety of shapes and colors obtained through selective breeding.

Native to Central and North America down to northern South America, they inhabit warm waters of rivers, lagoons, and vegetated streams. They adapt well to a wide range of parameters, making them an ideal choice for beginner aquariums.
