Habitat

The natural habitat of platy fish is found in rivers, streams, and ponds in Central America, primarily in Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala. They prefer calm waters with little current, where aquatic vegetation is abundant. These environments typically have warm temperatures, ranging from 20 to 28°C (68 to 82°F), and slightly alkaline pH levels. However, platies are highly adaptable and can thrive in a wide range of water conditions.

Breeding

Providing hiding spots and suitable food, such as infusoria or powdered fry food, helps ensure their survival and proper development.

Diet
