Caridina: aquarium shrimp of the genus Caridina

The genus Caridina brings together the most prized aquarium shrimp and also the most demanding. Unlike Neocaridina, which tolerate almost any reasonable water, many Caridina need specific, stable parameters: the bee group wants soft, acidic water, usually remineralised RO, while those from the Sulawesi lakes need the exact opposite, warm and alkaline. It is worth checking the parameters before choosing one, because two species of the same genus can be incompatible with each other.
