Descripción
The Crystal Red is the classic bee shrimp, white and red, and the natural step up for anyone already comfortable with Neocaridina. It is graded by how much white covers the body and how crisp the boundary between bands is: from S to SSS, and from there to named patterns such as Hinomaru or Mosura. That grade sets the price but not the difficulty, which is the same across all of them. What is genuinely demanding is the water: it needs remineralised RO with a bee-specific salt, and it does not forgive sudden swings.
Scientific name
Caridina cantonensis var. Crystal Red

Hard
Hábitat
It is a selection of Caridina cantonensis, from soft, acidic streams in southern China over leaf litter beds. In the aquarium that means an active substrate that lowers pH, near-zero KH and a cool, stable temperature: above 25 °C the colony stops breeding and weakens.
