Description
Pterosturisoma microps is a bottom-dwelling loricariid catfish of up to 16.1 cm, from the upper Amazon. The genus name joins «wing», «sturgeon» and «mouth».
Little is known of its life. It asks for a long tank with fine sand, logs and little current, and calm companions. It does not compete for food.
Behavior
It can be expected to be calm and slow, spending the day pressed to logs and sand. It competes poorly for food and needs a long tank without strong currents.
It lives well with small, calm fish of the middle and upper levels.
Avoid housing it with other bottom fish that dispute its food and with large or lively fish.
Habitat
Pterosturisoma microps lives in the upper Amazon. Its specific environment has not been described.

Etymology: from FishBase, the genus joins the Greek pteron («wing, fin»), the German sturio («sturgeon») and the Greek stoma («mouth»).
The care values (pH, temperature and hardness) come from a single source: none of the other accepted sources records them for this species.
Water: FishBase gives 24-28 °C and records neither pH nor hardness; the pH (6-7.2) and hardness (2-10 dGH) ranges are an own judgement, taken from Planiloricaria cryptodon, of the same subfamily, and do not come from any source. Size: 16.1 cm SL. Distribution: the upper Amazon. Diet, behaviour and breeding: FishBase does not record them; the text is general knowledge of the loricariines, not of the species.
Litres per fish, tank sizes and lifespan: the profile's own judgement. The sources consulted do not give them.
